Using the message workspace

Unified inbox, replies, media, search, group actions, and bulk read tasks.

Messages is your day-to-day workspace for Telegram conversations. Select accounts and conversations on the left, and read and reply on the right. Always confirm the workspace, chat, and actual sending account before sending.

Find conversations

The default All accounts view aggregates accounts you can view in the current workspace. You can filter to one account. Search matches conversation names or IDs in the synchronized conversation index; this is separate from searching message bodies inside a chat.

Combine unread, normal/archived, and type filters such as private chats, bots, groups, supergroups, and channels. If a conversation is missing, clear filters and check account synchronization. The list can be incomplete while initial sync is unfinished or an account is offline.

The same contact under two accounts still represents two independent conversations. Merge shared group chats can combine group displays. Check the specific viewing and sending account in the chat header; merging the display does not merge member grants.

Changing the account filter closes the current conversation and preview; select again from the new list. While scrolling the conversation list, use the update notice to refresh when ready so background changes do not interrupt your position.

View messages and read status

Browsing conversation lists or search summaries does not mark chats read. In a normal chat, the page must be foregrounded and focused, history must load successfully, and the latest messages must be rendered and visible at the bottom before read status is submitted.

Use Silent preview in the conversation context menu to read history without marking it read. Opening the full chat from the preview restores normal read behavior.

Mark unread changes Telegram's shared unread reminder; it does not revoke read receipts already received by the other person. Normal reading can change read status even with View-only access, affecting other members and clients sharing the account.

Send text and attachments

  1. Select a conversation and verify the sending account and Send permission.
  2. Enter text using rich-text editing, emoji, or quoted replies if needed.
  3. Select the attachment button, paste an image, or drag in files.
  4. Select Send or press Ctrl / Command + Enter.
  5. Review status in the pending-send area and confirm success before handling exceptions.

Plain text supports up to 4,096 characters; media captions support up to 1,024. Individual files are limited to 10 MiB. If an attachment caption exceeds the limit, shorten it or send the content separately.

The voice button supports browser recording or audio-file selection. Recording requires browser support and microphone permission; upload audio if recording is unavailable. Direct audio/video playback also depends on codec support. Use the provided download action when playback is unavailable.

Drafts are isolated by workspace, account, and conversation and can be resumed when switching chats in the current session. In-memory drafts and pending uploads are not guaranteed to survive refresh, page closure, or sign-out. Handle unsent content before leaving.

Handle send status

Status What to do
Queued or uploading Wait; queueing is not confirmation of success
Sending or cooling down due to rate limits Read details and the countdown; avoid repeated clicks
Confirmed successful Treat it as sent; closing the page does not recall delivered content
Confirmed failure Read the reason, resolve permission, attachment, or connection issues, then use the appropriate retry action
Unknown or pending confirmation Check the original task and Telegram; do not resend as a new task
File must be selected again Select the original file as instructed to resume uploading. After refresh, the browser cannot read a local file from its path automatically

A network timeout does not prove the message was not sent. The system retains the original task identity for reconciliation to avoid duplicate delivery.

Message and conversation actions

Right-click, or long-press on mobile, to open the menu. Available actions depend on permissions and message type.

Action Details
Quote reply Select the original message and edit your reply; the quote can be canceled before sending
Edit message Edits your sent text or supported media caption; cannot replace media files and is ultimately validated by Telegram
Delete message Review scope and impact in the confirmation dialog. Telegram permissions and message types limit available options
Forward message Select recipients and confirm; protected messages cannot be forwarded
React Add or remove a reaction; available reactions depend on the chat
Pin message Adds a message to the chat's pinned area. Private and group chats have different notification options
Pin conversation Moves a conversation higher in the normal list; requires account management permission and is separate from pinning a message
Mute or archive Changes actual Telegram conversation settings; requires account management permission
Search messages Search message bodies inside the chat and select a result to locate it
Create or link ticket Links the conversation or message reference to a workspace issue. See ticket help
Exclude chat Hides the chat from everyone in this workspace. Read Data and privacy first

Mark conversations read in bulk

Prepare a task through More conversation actions → Mark all filtered results read. The confirmation shows selected accounts and conversation scope across all filtered pages, not just the current screen.

After confirmation, processing runs in the background. Check progress in Read tasks. Each conversation is processed up to the message boundary captured in the confirmation snapshot; later messages remain unread. Closing the page does not stop the task.

  • Stop: prevents conversations that have not started from being processed; already dispatched operations continue to reconciliation.
  • Retry: retries only failed items in the original snapshot, without repeating successful or uncertain items.
  • Reconcile: checks uncertain items without starting new mark-read operations.

Progress is counted by conversation. An ongoing task for the same Telegram account prevents another task from starting simultaneously. An expired snapshot must be prepared again.

New conversations and group actions

The new-conversation entry lets you choose an initiating account, then start a private chat or create a group or channel as permitted. Find people using existing private chats, full usernames, or Telegram links, and select users as prompted.

Group profiles allow viewing members, inviting members, and member management according to permissions. Telegram privacy settings, invitation restrictions, group administration rights, and rate limits can cause failures. If creation or invitation results are uncertain, check the original task to avoid duplicate groups or invitations.

Common questions

Question What to do
A newly connected chat cannot be found Check sync progress and normal/archived scope; index search only covers synchronized content
The composer is unavailable Check Send permission, account readiness, chat exclusions, and Telegram posting rights
The right panel is blank after switching accounts This is expected; select a conversation from the new list
An image keeps loading Open connection status for recovery actions. Large media may require manual loading; deleted or protected media may be unavailable
A restored conversation is still missing Check other filters and whether another member's exclusion remains
